Litigation partners Koren (Kori) Bell and Marina Torres were profiled by the Daily Journal in an article focusing on the growth of Willkie’s White-Collar Defense practice, especially on the West Coast. Willkie’s White-Collar Defense group advises and defends some of the world’s leading multinational corporations and, in many cases, their senior officers and directors in a broad range of regulatory and criminal matters.
Kori and Marina, who joined Willkie’s Los Angeles office in May 2023 and January 2023, respectively, discussed the group’s collaborative nature, recent growth and strategy to further expand the practice.
As diverse women, they also discussed the importance of diversity in the legal field and in the white-collar arena, noting that clients are increasingly looking to diversify their legal representation. “The best defense teams feature a diversity of perspectives,” Kori explained.
Alex Weingarten, Managing Partner of Willkie’s Los Angeles office, commented “The opportunity to add talent of the caliber of Kori and Marina was too exciting to pass up.” Established in 2021, Willkie’s Los Angeles office includes more than 80 lawyers.
Willkie’s White-Collar Defense practice, which includes several former federal prosecutors, has achieved great success in resolving matters quietly and professionally, without prosecution, litigation, or publicity. The group consists of experienced trial lawyers who will not hesitate to take a case to trial when necessary or the best strategy.
