Accomplished trial lawyer John Mitchell has joined Willkie as Counsel. He is based in the firm’s Chicago office.
 
John joined Willkie after spending 13 years in senior government positions. Most recently, he was a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Attorney in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, where he led teams of prosecutors and FBI agents in criminal investigations and served as trial counsel on behalf of the U.S. in complex and high-profile jury trials.

As a member of Willkie’s Litigation Department and the firm’s White-Collar Defense, Securities Litigation & Enforcement, and Investigations & Enforcement practice groups, John represents companies and individuals in government and internal investigations, as well as in complex civil and criminal matters.
