On July 17, Willkie client Platinum Equity announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire The HC Companies, a leading North American manufacturer of horticultural containers.
Headquartered in Twinsburg, Ohio, HC produces a wide range of planters, pots and accessories for the greenhouse, nursery and retail markets, including fiber and biobased solutions produced with post-consumer and post-industrial materials to meet increasing consumer demand for sustainable solutions. It operates six manufacturing locations and distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada.
Founded in 1995 by Tom Gores, Platinum Equity is a global investment firm with approximately $47 billion of assets under management and a portfolio of approximately 50 operating companies.
The Willkie team was led by partners Thomas Sharkey and Cristopher Greer and included associates Robert Yu, David Relihan and Orlando He.
