On July 3, 2018, Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. ("CAF"), a multinational group with over 100 years of experience in the supply of comprehensive transit solutions and leader in the railway industry, announced its strategic investment in Solaris Bus & Coach S.A ("Solaris").
Solaris, established in 1996, is a global supplier of conventional and electric buses with a presence in over 600 cities in 32 countries. With an annual turnover of close to €450 million, it has two production plants in Poland in the cities of Bolechowo and Sroda, and a workforce of more than 2,300 people.
The completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the relevant Polish and German competition authorities and other customary conditions.
Willkie advised the sellers and Solaris, in conjunction with Polish partner firm Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak.
