Willkie represented onshore exploration and production company Samson Resources Company in the $44.4 million transaction.
On May 9, Willkie client Samson Resources Company agreed to sell a portion of its position in Converse County, WY consisting of 7,000 net acres, interests in 17 wells and overriding royalty interests to an undisclosed buyer in exchange for cash consideration of $44.4 million and the receipt by Samson of 15,000 net acres (subject to customary adjustments). The sale is expected to occur prior to May 31, 2018, with an effective date of April 1, 2018. Samson is a privately held onshore exploration and production company headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma active in the Powder River and the Green River Basins of Wyoming.
The asset sale was handled by partners Michael De Voe Piazza, Cody Carper, Steven Torello and Robert Jacobson, and associates David Aaronson, Lynn Abell and Yaniv Maman.
