After completion, Bpifrance will hold 15 percent of Vallourec’s share capital.

Willkie recently advised Bpifrance in connection with Vallourec’s €1 billion equity fundraising. Bpifrance and Nippon Steel Sumitomo Metal Corp. (NSSMC), Vallourec’s shareholder and industrial partner, respectively, will contribute to the fundraising. After completion, each will hold 15 percent of Vallourec’s share capital.

The transaction will be submitted to the Shareholders assembly, likely on April 6, as well as to antitrust authorities.

Vallourec is a world leader in premium tubular solutions primarily serving the energy markets, as well as other industrial applications.

The deal was handled by partner Daniel Hurstel and associate Basma Paradin; national partner Faustine Viala and associate Anouk Falgas for antitrust matters; and partner Thierry Laloum for public law.
