Willkie represents RG Steel, LLC, and affiliates, the fourth largest producer of flat rolled steel in North America, in their chapter 11 filings in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
On May 31, Willkie client RG Steel, LLC and affiliates, a $1 billion steelmaking enterprise with primary facilities located in Sparrows Point, MD, Wheeling, WV and Warren, OH, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The firm represents RG Steel in its chapter 11 filings, and has successfully assisted the company in obtaining critical first day relief, including a postpetition secured financing facility. In its chapter 11 cases, RG Steel is pursuing the sale of RG Steel’s primary facilities on a going-concern basis, potentially preserving thousands of steelworker jobs. RG Steel was formed by the Renco Group, an investment vehicle ultimately owned by industrialist Ira Rennert. The matter is being handled by partners Matthew Feldman, Shaunna Jones, Jeffrey Goldfarb, Brian O’Connor, and Thomas Mark, and associates Weston Eguchi, David Gise, Andrew Sorkin, Josh Troy, Daniel Sirkin, Mia Ellis, Mili Desai, Daniel Forman, Richard Kurdziel and Andrew Mordkoff.
