Firm assists 3i-backed Hilite International on the sale of its emissions control business to Cummins Inc.
It was recently announced that Willkie client 3i-backed Hilite International agreed to sell its heavy duty emissions control business to Cummins Inc. Headquartered in Marktheidenfeld, Germany, Hilite is a global supplier of leading automotive system solutions. Accounting for approximately 25 percent of its revenues, Hilite’s emissions control unit is a world-class technology leader in the design and assembly of exhaust dosing systems for on- and off-road heavy duty vehicles. Following the sale, Hilite will focus on its core business of producing powertrain components for passenger cars, for which it has developed a significant international growth strategy. With 44,000 employees worldwide serving customers in about 190 countries, Columbus, Indiana-based Cummins comprises complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service engines and related technologies.
The Willkie deal team, led by partner Mario Schmidt, included partners William Gump, Dr. Patrick Meiisel; national partners Dr. Christian Rolf and Rolf Huenermann and associates Daniel Zakrzewski, Dr. Maximilian Schwab, Dr. Octávio de Sousa, Marco Müller and Jochen Riechwald.
