Lime Rock Partners announces the formation of Lime Rock Partners V, L.P., marking the private equity firm’s fifth fund focused on the global energy sector.

On May 8, Willkie client Lime Rock Partners announced that it has closed a fund with $1.4 billion in investor capital commitments for companies in the energy sector.  The fund, Lime Rock Partners V, L.P., marks the private equity firm’s fifth fund focused on the global energy sector.  Like the four predecessor funds, Lime Rock Partners V, L.P. will make long-term growth capital investments.  Based in Westport, Conn, Lime Rock Partners funds to date have invested $1 billion in 47 energy portfolio companies worldwide, primarily in the exploration & production, energy service, and oil service technology sectors.  The company manages $3.5 billion of private capital for investment in the energy industry.  The deal was handled by partners Bruce Herzog, James Brown, Hillel Jacobson, and Frank Daniele; and associates Scott Eisenberg and Christian Ercole.
