Benefit raises $1.7 million in support of inMotion's programs that provide pro bono legal services to low-income and abused women in New York City.

On April 3, Willkie served as one of the key underwriters of inMotion’s Annual Photography Auction & Benefit, which was held at The Pierre Hotel on April 3 and raised $1.7 million in support of inMotion's programs that provide pro bono legal services to low-income and abused women in New York City.  The benefit, which honored Norma C. Corio, Managing Director, JP Morgan, was underwritten by Willkie along with AlixPartners and Sidley Austin LLP.  The auction collection featured works by 40 acclaimed photographers, including portrait commissions by Mary Ellen Mark, Martin Schoeller, and William Wegman.  The firm is a longtime supporter of inMotion and its mission to provide free legal services to women and their children, primarily in the areas of matrimonial, family, and immigration law.  Willkie partner Shelley Chapman currently serves as chair of inMotion’s Board of Directors.  The Spring 2006 edition of inMotion’s newsletter features an in-depth profile of the firm’s extensive involvement with inMotion since its inception in 1993 and its continued commitment to assisting families in domestic crisis.
