Thomson Corporation announces plans to acquire Information Holdings Inc., a provider of intellectual property (IP) and regulatory information for the scientific, legal, and corporate markets, for $585 million ($441M for all outstanding shares of information Holdings, plus $144M cash and investments held by the company).

On June 28, it was announced that Thomson Corporation will acquire Information Holdings Inc., a provider of intellectual property (IP) and regulatory information for the scientific, legal, and corporate markets, for $585 million ($441M for all outstanding shares of information Holdings, plus $144M cash and investments held by the company). Willkie client Warburg Pincus is IHI’s largest shareholder with a 33% stake. Under the terms of the agreement, a Thomson subsidiary will acquire all of the outstanding common stock of IHI at a price of $28 per share in cash. The June 29 edition of The Daily Deal reports that Willkie partner Steven Gartner and associates Nicole Napolitano and Jose Rivera represented the target in this transaction.
