On April 1, Willkie client BNP Paribas SA, the euro zone's largest bank, announced the sale of food ingredients maker Diana Ingrédients SA to London-based Electra Partners Europe Ltd. for €270 million ($334 million). This is the bank’s latest step in its phased withdrawal from private equity. The bank, which two years ago sold a controlling stake in its former private equity arm, now known as PAI Partners, to PAI management, is edging back from its past role as an investor. The April 2 edition of The Daily Deal reports that the deal was handled by Paris partner Daniel Payan.
