The firm congratulates partner David J. McCabe on his recent election as a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC). Fellows of ACTEC are selected on the basis of professional reputation and credentials in the associated fields of trusts and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities. They are nominated by other Fellows in their geographical area and ultimately elected by the ACTEC membership at large, which is comprised of approximately 2,700 lawyers throughout the United States. ACTEC is a professional association, international in scope, of lawyers skilled and experienced in all aspects of trusts and estates and probate administration, including estate planning, wills, tax matters, and related issues pertaining to minors and incompetents. David McCabe chairs Willkie’s Trusts & Estates Department, specializing in all aspects of estate planning and administration, with emphasis on the development of sophisticated plans for high-net-worth individuals and their families. Mr. McCabe has published widely on the subject of estate planning, including a recent article in the September issue of Trusts and Estates on how 9/11 brought to light inadequate estate planning on the part of many professionals.
