The December 2001 issue of the New York Lawyer magazine features an in-depth interview with Willkie partner former governor Mario M. Cuomo. In the article, Governor Cuomo discusses his return to practice at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and his views on the New York State Court of Appeals. With regard to his practice, Mr. Cuomo states: “It was clear to me always that the one thing that I was best at, in my own estimation, was being a lawyer and the one thing I did best was the law…. So when I left the governorship, going back to the practice of law was natural for me…. I never even considered any firm other than Willkie…. I knew the Willkie firm well by reputation, from my own experience and from my years as Governor….”
