On March 24 at 2 pm (ET), partner Robin Spigel will participate in the webinar titled “She Knows Structure: An All-Women Panel on SPVs and Chapter 11,” hosted by 9fin. In celebration of International Women’s Day, the all-women panel will tackle one of the most complex questions in distressed investing: when companies enter financial distress, do the structures designed to protect lenders and isolate risk actually hold up?
The panelists will also examine a live tension in SPV structures that hold pledged receivables: debtors seeking to treat post-petition receivables as unencumbered cash, while SPV lenders argue the receivables were transferred prepetition and remain beyond the estate's reach. They will discuss other complex corporate structures, unpacking the intercreditor tensions, intercompany claims, and plan complexity that make recent cases among the most challenging to navigate in modern restructuring practice.
