On October 26, Willkie will host a half-day session that includes three programs at the Society for Corporate Governance’s 2022 East Regional Fall Conference.

The first program, titled “National Security Regulation in a Time of Crisis: Sanctions, CFIUS, and Enforcement,” will cover the growing challenges faced by companies to navigate the unexpected and often opaque legal challenges driven by national security and foreign policy crises. Chair of Willkie’s Global Trade & Investment Practice Group David Mortlock will be joined by Daleep Singh, Chief Global Economist and Head of Global Economic Research, PGIM Fixed Income.

The second program, titled “Crypto and the Regulatory Path Forward,” will cover the current regulatory frameworks of the crypto industry, including existing financial regulatory regimes, recent law enforcement actions, and the prospects for current proposals.  Co-Chairs of the Willkie Digital Work Practice J. Christopher Giancarlo and Kristy Littman will be joined by Brett W. Redfearn, Founder, Panorama Financial Markets Authority.

The third program, titled “Recent Developments in SEC Rulemaking,” will cover the short- and long-term action items on the SEC’s 2022 regulatory agenda, including the environmental, Rule 14a-8, SPAC, and 13D/13G releases. Co-Chair of Willkie’s Corporate Governance practice Robert Stebbins will be joined by Dalia Blass, Senior Managing Director, BlackRock, Inc., and Robert Jackson, Professor, New York University School of Law. The panel will be moderated by Katherine Kelly, Vice President, Deputy General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Meta Platforms, Inc.
