Willkie litigation partner and Co-Chair of the Securities Enforcement Group Elizabeth P. Gray will speak on a Directors Roundtable Institute panel entitled “A Dialogue with an SEC Commissioner: Liability for Corporate Misconduct” on March 16.
The panel will be preceded by a Q&A with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, discussing issues important to business leaders and the Bar regarding corporate and personal compliance duties and liabilities. Panelists will explore some of the timely issues raised in the Q&A, such as how to prevent misconduct before it occurs; how to ensure sufficient resources and a culture of compliance; the role of risk management in translating legal advice into compliance policies and operations; and regulatory and law enforcement treatment of the company and its leadership.
