Elizabeth Buckley Lewis spoke at the 3rd Annual Not-for-Profit Institute: New York Nonprofit Law in the Age of the Revitalization Act sponsored by City Bar.

This full-day program provided a comprehensive overview of developments in nonprofit law, with a focus on “Nonprofit Law in the Age of the Nonprofit Revitalization Act” which went into effect on July 1, 2014.  Topics discussed (with reference to the impact of the recent statutory changes) included related party transactions and conflicts of interest, board governance and committee structure, compensation, charitable solicitations, auditing and accounting issues (and the role of audit committees), IRS update, new procedures relating to mergers, dissolutions and sales, the enforcement and regulatory authority of the Attorney General, whistleblower policies and employment practices, and ethics issues.

Elizabeth Buckley Lewis spoke on the topic of Corporate Structure and LLCs.
