Organizer: BNY Mellon

Topic: Now in its sixth year, the Forum is designed to provide a venue for investment management professionals to discuss the challenges associated with the increasingly complex and ever-changing accounting and regulatory issues impacting the mutual fund industry.

Keynote speaker Joseph Riley will lead our lunch discussion on recent developments relating to EU tax reclaims, proposed tax legislation, and other current tax developments.

The focus of this year's Forum will be on valuation oversight.  The discussion will cover best practice considerations surrounding the fair valuation process including:

  • The role of the valuation committee
  • Content of valuation procedures
  • Board reporting
  • Pricing controls and current trends (vendor oversight, back testing, stale prices, price over-rides)
  • The role of the chief compliance officer and auditors

Other discussion topics covered at the Forum will include recent developments in financial reporting.
