Willkie has been shortlisted in the “Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership” category for the LawWorks 2021 UK Pro Bono Awards, in recognition of Willkie’s partnership with Bloomberg L.P. on the Imperial College/Bloomberg Cleantech Accelerator Programme.
The program is a new initiative in London through which Willkie lawyers, alongside lawyers from Bloomberg L.P., Ropes & Gray and Simmons & Simmons, provide selected startups with legal support in the early stages of their development. The aim of the program is to help speed up the delivery to market of new ideas and technology that could have a positive impact on issues such as climate change and protection of the environment.
Working in England and Wales, LawWorks is a charity that connects volunteer lawyers with people who cannot afford to pay for legal advice and are not eligible for legal aid. The LawWorks 2021 UK Pro Bono Awards celebrate the best legal pro bono activities undertaken by organizations and individuals and the positive impact they have had on those helped.
The awards event will take place on December 7, 2021.
