On June 8 at 2:30 PM EDT, Willkie Asset Management partner Laura Friedrich will participate in the program Advanced Issues in Private Funds 2021, hosted virtually by the Practising Law Institute.

As the private funds industry continues to evolve, fund managers are finding new and creative ways to create additional liquidity and sources of capital, often through mechanisms such as continuation funds, secondaries, recapitalizations, etc. Designed to provide an advanced analysis of the private funds industry, this program will highlight the predominant and relevant issues facing private funds lawyers and how to handle them.

Ms. Friedrich will speak on the panel “Side Car Funds (Annex Funds, Top‐Up Funds, Overage Funds, Single Investment Co‐investment Funds).” Side car funds have become prominent features that are utilized by managers and sought after by investors. This session will focus on exploration of the “menu” of options and the business challenges that they aim to address and typical features of the various structures.
