Lazard Real Estate Partners sells 21,070,658 shares of common stock of healthcare Real Estate Investment Trust Ventas, Inc.
The firm recently advised healthcare Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Ventas, Inc. in the secondary offering of 21,070,658 shares of its common stock by Lazard Real Estate Partners, in a transaction valued at $1.13 billion. Louisville, Ky.-based Ventas has a portfolio of 1,361 properties, consisting of 673 seniors housing communities, 398 skilled nursing facilities, 47 hospitals and 243 medical office buildings and other properties in 46 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and two Canadian provinces. In 2011, Willkie advised on Ventas’s $770 million acquisition of Cogdell Spencer Inc. and its $300 million offering of common stock. The current deal was handled by partner David Boston and associates Theodore Neos and Tyler Barnett.
