David Tayar is a partner in the Antitrust and Competition Practice Group of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Paris. Mr. Tayar specializes in antitrust.
Mr. Tayar has extensive experience in handling first and second stage complex merger control investigations before both European and French antitrust agencies and in coordinating multijurisdictional filings. He regularly advises clients in restrictive arrangements and monopolization cases before European and French competition authorities and courts. He also frequently intervenes in State aid cases before the European Commission and European Community Courts.
Mr. Tayar advises French and foreign clients in a wide variety of industries, with a special focus on the energy, media, pharmaceutical and banking sectors.
Chambers Europe (2011) ranks Mr. Tayar among the leading individuals practicing in the area of competition/European law in France.

Teva Pharmaceuticals in its $6.8 billion acquisition Cephalon
Teva Pharmaceuticals in its $5 billion acquisition Ratiopharm GmbH
Teva Pharmaceuticals in its $9 billion merger with Barr Pharmaceuticals.
Macquarie Capital and Jarden Corporation in the acquisition of Rossignol, a leading winter sports company.
France Télévisions, the leading French public television group in proceedings before the French Competition Council in a restraint of trade and monopolization case related to a "catch up TV" agreement with telecom operator Orange.
Total in a private enforcement litigation case against three large chemical companies in relation to a cartel in organic peroxides.
Gaz de France in its merger with Suez.
Crédit Mutuel in European Court proceedings to obtain the annulment of a Commission decision ordering the reimbursement of more than Euro 160 million of alleged State aid.
