Christopher J. Peters is a partner in the Tax Department of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York.  Mr. Peters advises U.S. and non-U.S. clients on the tax aspects of structuring and implementing taxable and tax-free mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, leveraged buy-outs and joint ventures.  He also provides tax advice on capital markets transactions and regularly advises private equity funds and their investors on their investments and fund-related matters.

Mr. Peters is ranked as a leading practitioner of Tax Law in New York by Chambers USA (2011).

  • The formation of Aeolus Ltd., a Bermuda insurance company formed by an investor group led by Warburg Pincus and Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity

  • Teksid Aluminum in the pending $496.8 million asset sale by its parent company, TK Aluminum Ltd., to Tendora Nemak

  • Stiefel Laboratories’ $930 million acquisition of Connetics Corporation

  • Converium AG’s sale of its North American operations to National Indemnity Company, a Berkshire Hathaway company

  • The spin-off and stock offering of Petrojarl ASA by Petroleum Geo-Services ASA
