GC’s Women in Law: Latin America Edition spotlights Willkie’s commitment to diversity and the trailblazing female lawyers at the firm and across Latin America.

In partnership with GC Magazine, Willkie is pleased to share a 2020 special report, Women in Law: Latin America Edition. The report shines a bright light on diversity and inclusion in the legal industry, featuring profiles and interviews of trailblazing women attorneys at Willkie and in corporate counsel roles across Latin America who have overcome challenges, broken barriers and are paving the way for the next generation of women in the law. A downloadable, excerpted version can be found here: Women in Law: Latin America Edition, GC Magazine 2020 Special Report.

In the publication’s Foreword, Chairman Steven Gartner discusses how Willkie is embracing diversity and inclusion across the firm and how it is critical to its overall success.

Partner and head of Willkie’s Latin America Practice Group Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza is interviewed on her path to becoming a lawyer and gender challenges she faced in the law and as a corporate attorney leading transactions across Latin America. She also discusses how she has built a diverse team at Willkie, and outlines how the firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts benefit attorneys, staff and clients.

The special report also features articles on how gender bias is being challenged in Latin America’s legal and corporate worlds, and what companies are doing to promote diversity and overcome unconscious bias. Interviews with leading in-house counsel address how women (and men) have become vocal advocates for change and equality both inside and outside their organizations, including:
