Real Estate Department Co-Chair Tomas Henry was profiled for Law360’s “MVP” series as one of only seven attorneys nationwide to be named an MVP in Real Estate. MVPs were selected for their "exemplary work" on "mammoth deals and first-of-their-kind global matters."

The profile, published on December 9, focuses on  Mr. Henry’s extremely busy year in which he represented Paramount Group’s $2.6 billion initial public offering, the largest real estate investment trust initial public offering in history, Hudson's Bay Company’s  $1.25 billion mortgage financing of its flagship Saks Fifth Avenue property in New York, private equity firm Access Industries and its joint venture partner, the Argentina-based Faena Group, in its negotiation of a $300 million construction loan from HSBC for the development of the Faena District in Miami Beach, as well as many other projects.

Law 360 noted that Mr. Henry began his career as a summer associate at Willkie and was encouraged by Eugene Pinover, with whom he now chairs the real estate group, to go into real estate.  Mr. Henry said that he “enjoys the fact that he works with tangible assets and can see products as they grow,” which has enabled him to develop “close and long-lasting relationships with clients.”

Paramount's IPO was particularly gratifying because the New York-based REIT had been a client of the firm for so long. “It was a real satisfying moment to be on the floor of the stock exchange when the senior executive rung the bell,” Mr. Henry said.
