The Ethisphere Institute’s listing of “2012 Attorneys Who Matter” includes three Willkie litigation partners: Martin Weinstein, Michael Schachter and Mei Lin Kwan-Gett. The annual listing recognizes attorneys nationwide who have demonstrated a significant “commitment to advancing corporate ethics and compliance.” The listing comprises attorneys in all areas of practice, including law firms, federal agencies and major corporations. Mr. Weinstein is named among a short list of “Top Guns,” Mr. Schachter is included among a list of attorneys recognized for excellence in the area of “Securities” matters and Ms. Kwan-Gett is included on the listing of “Up and Comers/Rising Stars.” Mr. Weinstein has been recognized on Attorneys Who Matter since its inception in 2009, and this is the third consecutive year that Mr. Schachter and Ms. Kwan-Gett have been honored.
The following criteria were used in determining the selection of recognized attorneys: 1) recognized expertise, 2) peer/client endorsements, 3) high-profile litigation, 4) number of cases won, 5) high-profile clients, 6) public service, 7) legal community engagement, 8) academic involvement and 9) other awards and recognitions.
