Michael G. Jones is a counsel in the Communications & Media Department, focusing on regulatory transactional, corporate, and FCC policy matters.  Mike regularly advises private and publicly traded telecommunications and media companies, including wireline, mobile and fixed wireless, satellite, cable, broadcast, and programmers.  Mike also advises private equity firms, hedge funds, insurance companies, and large and small investors concerning investment in telecommunications and media companies, and he advises foreign investors and telecom providers with respect to U.S. entry requirements.

Mike has significant experience advising clients on transactional matters before the FCC, Team Telecom, the Department of Justice, and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) with respect to transaction structure, due diligence, negotiations, and filing and prosecuting applications for governmental approval, among others.

Mike also has extensive experience advising clients on regulatory compliance matters and rulemakings before the FCC, including the following areas: spectrum allocation, licensing and auction issues; ownership limits and competition policy; proposed merger proceedings; and enforcement investigations and proceedings.
