  • Samson Resources: represented second lien term loan lenders in Samson’s chapter 11 restructuring; now representing reorganized Samson post-emergence.
  • Energy XXI: represented administrative agent for a 27 bank reserve-based lending syndicate in Energy XXI’s chapter 11 restructuring; now representing exit facility agent under restructured first lien facility.
  • Goodrich Petroleum: represented administrative agent for syndicate of reserve-based lenders in Goodrich’s chapter 11 restructuring; now representing exit facility agent under reduced and restructured first lien term loan.
  • Sabine Oil & Gas: represented prepetition first lien agent in the Sabine chapter 11 proceedings.
  • Harlan Laboratories: represented term lender group in Harlan’s out-of-court debt restructurings.
  • Patriot Coal: represented Bank of America, N.A., as prepetition agent, “second out” DIP agent and “first out” DIP arranger in the Patriot Coal chapter 11 proceedings.
  • MF Global: represented Bank of America and its affiliates in various creditor capacities under loan facilities and derivatives contracts. 
  • Fair Point Communications: counsel to Bank of America, N.A., as administrative agent for the prepetition lenders, DIP lenders and exit lenders in the Fair Point chapter 11 case.
  • American Home Mortgage: counsel to Bank of America, N.A., as prepetition administrative agent in AHM’s chapter 11 cases.
  • Lyondell Chemical Co.: represented The Royal Bank of Scotland, N.V. in connection with more than $3 billion of secured and unsecured credit exposure in the chapter 11 case of Lyondell Chemical Company.
  • Regularly represents financial institutions in connection with hedge terminations, safe harbor advice and other enforcement issues in the derivatives context.
  • Advised a major financial institution in connection with the out-of-court workout of a $2 billion mortgage loan portfolio.
  • National Energy Group: represented an official committee of unsecured creditors holding claims in excess of $1.8 billion against a large energy holdings company.
  • Served as part of a litigation team representing one of the world's largest banks in its efforts to enforce its rights against natural gas collateral.
  • Litigated commercial contract disputes, ranging in magnitude from $1 million to $40 million, on behalf of a liquidating trustee under a chapter 11 plan.
  • Served as bankruptcy counsel to a publicly held healthcare company in a complex chapter 11 reorganization that generated more than $1 billion in distributable value to creditors.
