The Paris office recently represented the European Investment Bank (EIB) on its €70 million financing of SOREGIES, SERGIES and SRD of Groupe Energies Vienne, one of the largest local energy distribution companies in France.

The deal marks the 100th financing transaction in France launched under the Juncker Plan, and is the first direct financing from the EIB to a Local Mixed Economy Company (Société d’Economie Mixte Locale) in the French energy sector. The transaction supports Groupe Energies Vienne’s implementation of its investment plan, “Energies Vienne 2025.” In particular, it provides for the development of Groupe Energies Vienne in renewable energies, the deployment of intelligent meters and the extension and renewal of its gas and electricity distribution networks.

The Willkie deal team was led by partner Amir Jahanguiri and included associate Cédric Gamambaye Dionmou.
