Willkie represents Encompass Aviation in its sublease of all 12 of Surf Air’s PC-12NG aircraft and assumption of the company’s aircraft operations and management in California.
Willkie client Encompass Aviation has recently subleased all 12 of Surf Air’s PC-12NG aircraft and assumed the company’s aircraft operations and management in California. Hawthorne, CA-based Encompass took over Surf Air’s more than 70 daily weekday flights in California in May 2017, and now the transition has been fully completed. Ecompass has retained all of Surf Air’s 60-plus pilots and its operating structure. In connection with the deal, Surf Air relinquished its Part 135 certificate and is now only using third-party charter operators for all of its bases, which include Las Vegas, Dallas and the UK.
Encompass is a certificated Part 135 commuter operator (intra-state) providing safe, high quality and on-time air transportation services. Ecompass focuses on commercial aviation operations and management.
