Social Point is a free-to-play mobile game developer.

On February 1, Willkie client Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. announced that it has acquired mobile game developer Social Point S.L. for $250 million, comprised of $175 million in cash and $75 million in Take-Two stock, plus a potential earn-out of up to $25.9 million.

Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, Social Point is a free-to-play mobile game developer. The company’s two most successful games, Dragon City and Monster Legends, have been downloaded more than 180 million times to date on iOS and Android platforms and consistently have charted in the top-100 grossing mobile games in the United States since 2014.

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. is a leading developer, publisher and marketer of interactive entertainment for consumers around the globe. The company develops and publishes products through its two wholly owned labels, Rockstar Games and 2K.

The Willkie deal team was led by partner Adam Turteltaub and included partners Christopher Peters, Sean Ewen, Jeffrey Goldfarb and Alessandro Turina; counsel Jeffrey Clancy and Amir Ghavi; associates Howard Block, Timothy Porter, Neesha Mallavarapu, Geri Anne McEvoy, Michael Ispass and Rachel Dooley.
