The firm will receive the 2016 Honorable Jonathan Lippman New York Pro Bono Publico & Public Service Law Firm Award. 

Willkie has been selected by the Legal Aid Society as the recipient of its 2016 Honorable Jonathan Lippman New York Pro Bono Publico & Public Service Law Firm Award. Each year, the Society gives the award to one law firm that exemplifies the highest standard of pro bono work by providing exceptional legal services to low-income New Yorkers. The Society will highlight Willkie’s landmark victory on behalf of transgender Medicaid recipients in Cruz v. Zucker, as well as the delayed release action brought against the State Department of Corrections.
