Simply Business is the U.K.’s biggest on-line SMB business insurance provider.
On April 11, Willkie client Aquiline Capital Partners LLC announced that it has agreed to acquire Simply Business, the U.K.’s biggest business insurance provider for small and medium-sized businesses. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Launched in 2005, Simply Business provides an online brokerage service delivering policies tailored to individual business requirements. It provides insurance to more than 350,000 U.K. small and medium-sized enterprises.
Aquiline is a private equity firm based in New York investing in middle-market businesses across the financial services sector in banking and credit, insurance, investment management and markets, and financial technology and services.
The Willkie deal team was led by partners Joseph Ferraro and Jeffrey Poss and included partners Christopher Peters and Eugene Chang and UK partners Nicholas Bugler and Judith Harger.
