Mr. Haller joins firm as a partner in the New York office, effective January 5, 2015. 

Willkie is pleased to announce that Peter Haller has joined the firm as a partner in the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Department in the New York office. Mr. Haller provides advice on the fiduciary responsibility and prohibited transaction rules of ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code, with an emphasis on the structuring of hedge funds and private equity funds, and the ERISA issues relating to plan investors in such funds.  He has significant experience with the ERISA issues raised by financial institutions and their broker-dealer, asset management and private bank affiliates. He also advises clients on their employee benefit plans and programs.

Mr. Haller was most recently Director and Counsel for Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC in New York, where he served as the Global Head of the ERISA and Executive Compensation practices, and Head of the U.S. Bank Regulatory practice.  As Global Head of the ERISA practice, he advised both the “buy side” and “sell side” businesses with the development and offering of complex financial products.  Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2007, Mr. Haller was special counsel at Willkie.
