Willkie Team Honored for Project Finance Deal of the Year at IFLR Europe Awards

Paris office recognized for its representation of the lenders in the Marseille L2 Ring Road Public-Private Partnership project.

On April 3, Willkie was among a small group of honorees recognized at the 2014 IFLR Europe Awards in the category of "Project Finance Deal of the Year." The Willkie deal team was acknowledged specifically for its representation of the lenders in the Marseille L2 Ring Road Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project.

Under the deal, the French State signed a 30-year PPP contract for the financing, design, construction and maintenance of the A507 motorway (L2 Bypass), a 10 kilometer toll-free urban expressway, with an investment of approximately €620 million. Willkie advised the project lenders Allianz Global Investors (and funds managed by Allianz GI), Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank and Société Générale in the deal.

The Willkie team on the current deal was led by partners Thierry Laloum and Amir Jahanguiri and special European counsel Michaël Armandou, and included partner Vincent Brenot and associates Lamia Benzine, Anne-Laure Barel, Emilie Patoux and Hugo Nocerino.
