Swiss Re Corporate Solutions acquires 51% stake in Bogotá, Colombia-based Compañía Aseguradora de Fianzas S.A. Confianza.
On February 24, Willkie client Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and owners of Compañía Aseguradora de Fianzas S.A. Confianza (Confianza) announced that they have signed an agreement under which Swiss Re Corporate Solutions will acquire a 51% stake in Confianza. Based in Bogotá, Colombia, Confianza offers a broad range of surety insurance products, third-party liability and all-risk construction insurance solutions. The arrangement is expected to provide Colombian corporate clients local access to Swiss Re's commercial insurance products and services, and enables Swiss Re Corporate Solutions to expand business in Latin America through local representation. Backed by Swiss Re Group, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has 40 offices offering innovative, high-quality insurance capacity to mid-sized and large multinational corporations worldwide.
The deal was handled by partners Gregory Astrachan, Maria-Leticia Ossa-Daza, Christopher Peters and Jordan Messinger, and associates Theodore Neos, Angela Redai, Carlos Barnard Villalba, Robert Larimore and Amir Ghavi.
