CMA CGM, the world’s third largest container shipping company, agrees to sell a 49% stake in Terminal Link for €400 million.

Willkie client CMA CGM, the world’s third largest container shipping company, recently announced that it has agreed to sell a 49% stake in its wholly owned subsidiary Terminal Link to China Merchants Holdings International (CMHI), the largest public port operator in China, for €400 million. Based in Marseilles, France, Terminal Link operates, develops and invests in a global network of 15 terminals located on the world’s key international shipping routes. With 17,200 employees worldwide, CMA CGM has 394 ships on 170 shipping routes and 400 ports of call in 150 countries. Willkie recently advised CMA CGM in its sale of La Compagnie du Ponant, a luxury French cruise line, and in its sale of a 50% stake in Malta Freeport Terminals Limited.
