Acquisition creates new leader in investment consulting for endowments, foundations and the private wealth and health care markets.

On November 24, Willkie client Mercer announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Hammond Associates, creating a new leader in investment consulting for endowments, foundations and the private wealth and health care markets. With more than 20,000 employees in more than 40 countries, Mercer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., is a global provider of consulting, outsourcing and investment services. St. Louis, Mo-based Hammond Associates is the third largest investment consulting firm in the U.S. focused on endowment and foundation clients. The deal was handled by partners David Boston, Christopher Peters and James Silk; special counsel Peter Allman and associates Danielle Scalzo, Geri Anne Chich, Jason Ertel, Ryan Leshaw and Kathrin Schwesinger.
