Bloomberg announces agreement to acquire BusinessWeek, the publisher of the world’s most read business weekly, from the McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.
As reported widely in the press, on October 13 Willkie client Bloomberg L.P. announced its agreement to acquire BusinessWeek from the McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. BusinessWeek is the publisher of the world’s most read business weekly. The deal is expected to present a giant opportunity for Bloomberg News Service in accessing key decision makers in the most important industries. Additionally, the deal will significantly strengthen Bloomberg’s online, television and mobile products. Bloomberg’s media services cover the world with more than 2,200 news and multimedia professionals at 146 bureaus in 72 countries. The deal was handled by partners Maurice Lefkort and David Levine and associates Thomas O'Grady, John DeSisto and S. Burr Eckstut.
