On February 16, Willkie hosted a lunch seminar in Brussels that provided attendees with a concise update on the current practice by EU and national authorities on vertical agreements. Recent EU and national case law, as well as the e-commerce sector inquiry, have turned the spotlight on vertical agreements. Recent issues include the relationship between manufacturers and distributors and/or agents, selective distribution and the ban of internet platforms as well as information exchange and hub and spoke cartel agreements. We discussed practical solutions to the current antitrust questions arising in the distribution of products to today’s markets.
