Partner Elizabeth Bower spoke on corporate leadership in the context of shareholder activism.

Litigation partner Elizabeth Bower participated in the panel “Where Companies and Activist Shareholders Have the Same Goals” at the 2016 Women, Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) Conference. The session, which was part of the conference’s Corporate Leadership track, delved into the place where corporate leadership and activist shareholders hold similar goals, and discussed how the gap can be bridged where the conversation diverges. Ms. Bower was joined by co-panelists Peggy Foran, Chief Governance Officer, SVP, and Corporate Secretary of Prudential Financial, Inc., and Kate O’Leary, Global Executive Litigation Counsel of General Electric Company.

WIPL is the only national forum facilitating women-to-women exchange on current legal issues. The conference is led and facilitated almost exclusively by women, encouraging an exchange between women in-house counsel and women outside counsel on the day’s most pressing legal challenges, and covering topics that matter most to corporate counsel, outside counsel, and public sector attorneys.
