Having worked collaboratively on a wide range of matters over several years, in June 2008, Willkie and U.K. law firm Dickson Minto, W.S., established a formal relationship by means of a strategic alliance.

Operating from city centre offices in London and Edinburgh, Dickson Minto is a highly regarded boutique firm that specializes in corporate and commercial law.  Dickson Minto is particularly renowned for its outstanding work in the areas of private equity, mergers & acquisitions, acquisition finance (borrowers and lenders) and equity capital markets.  The firm also has considerable expertise in corporate finance and securitizations, investment funds (listed and private), regulatory compliance, financial services and market regulation (FSMA), intellectual property (corporate), restructuring, tax (structuring, M&A support), employment (M&A support, pensions), competition, and commercial property (principally Scotland).

While Willkie's London office will continue its practice of U.S. law on corporate and securities transactions and other matters, the alliance will provide us with enhanced access to U.K. legal expertise in the key areas that are complementary to our practices in the U.S. and Europe.  In particular, the alliance with Dickson Minto will result in a stronger London presence for Willkie to support the continued growth of our European offices for matters that require U.K. legal advice.
